On January 29, 2026, Komori held an "Environmental Initiatives and Information Disclosure Workshop" for executives. This workshop was conducted to help executives reaffirm the importance of environmental responsiveness and transparent information disclosure in today's environment, and to further strengthen the company-wide framework for achieving sustainable growth.
First, Mr. Hirata, who is in charge of the Komori Green Project, explained the current status of environmental initiatives based on the long-term vision "Komori 2030", which outlines Komori's role and business direction leading up to 2030. Based on this vision, Komori launched the Group-wide "Komori Green Project" in 2013 and is promoting environmental activities under the three guidelines of "Eco Factories," "Eco Communication, " and "Eco Products."
Mr. Hirata explained the initiatives.
In particular, Komori has set a goal of reducing the Komori Group's overall CO₂ emissions (Scope 1 and 2, market-based) by 26% by FY2030 compared to FY2022, as well as reducing CO₂ emissions during the operation of its flagship products by 30%. It was emphasized that highly effective initiatives--such as introducing energy-saving equipment in plants, utilizing renewable energy, and expanding solar power generation facilities--are yielding results toward these goals.
Initiatives at overseas locations, including China and Germany, were also introduced. These facilities have achieved annual CO₂ reductions of several hundred tons, reaffirming our commitment to responsible corporate behavior as a global organization.
Furthermore, the eco-friendly offset printing press "Lithrone GX/G advance EX Edition," released in 2024, has achieved up to an 18% reduction in power consumption compared to conventional models. It has received strong recognition as a machine contributing to printing companies' decarbonization efforts through quality improvements that reduce waste paper. We explained how Komori's role as a "Value Creation Engine" is being reliably realized in terms of environmental responsiveness.
Next, we heard from an employee of ASUENE Inc., invited as an external lecturer, who explained the necessity and current state of environmental responsiveness, as well as the latest trends in non-financial information disclosure. First, it was pointed out that external environmental risks are becoming increasingly apparent, such as the frequent occurrence of extreme weather, an increase in climate-related disasters, rising electricity demand, and accelerating tightening of regulations.

Additionally, an explanation was provided regarding the SSBJ (Sustainability Standards Board of Japan), which will be phased in as a mandatory requirement starting in 2027. This marks a turning point from traditional voluntary disclosure to a new era demanding integrated disclosure of financial and sustainability information, and delays in adopting this standard could lead to diminished credibility in capital markets and among business partners. Furthermore, the importance of prioritizing and implementing responses in stages was highlighted to prepare for a wide range of potential issues.
Through this workshop, the entire management team shared the recognition that environmental response is not simply risk management but is a core theme for increasing corporate value. For Komori to continue being chosen by future customers, investors, and society, it is essential to establish a disclosure framework that integrates environmental strategy, risk management, and financial impact assessment.
This workshop provided an opportunity for executives to clearly demonstrate their commitment to handling environmental responsibilities and information disclosure as key management priorities, and to pursue these efforts across the entire company. Komori will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
