From June 2 to June 6, 2026, PT Bright Grafa Machinery, Komori's distributor in Indonesia, hosted an Open House at Rasamadu Heritage in Solo, Indonesia, with Komori providing demonstration and technical support throughout the event. More than 450 visitors from across Indonesia attended during the five-day event, demonstrating strong interest in the latest printing technologies and solutions.

Experience the Latest Packaging Printing Technology at Indonesia’s First Open House

In the printing industry, the demand for higher value-added products, improved productivity, and consistent print quality continues to grow. Under the theme "Future Print Real Performance," the Open House showcased solutions designed to address these market needs through live demonstrations, with a particular focus on the rapidly expanding packaging market in Indonesia.

The event also featured KP-Connect, Komori's workflow solution that visualizes production information in real time. By integrating and managing data from printing presses and production processes, KP-Connect helps improve overall factory productivity. It was presented as a solution that supports both high-value-added printing and the establishment of a stable, efficient production environment.

Highlight ①: Job Changeover from Thin Paper to Thick Stock Packaging

During the morning demonstration, the Lithrone G40 advance (GL-640A with Coater) showcased a job changeover from thin paper printing used for applications such as book covers and paper bags to premium packaging printing on metallized paper.

Although thin paper printing generally presents inherent challenges, stable operation was achieved at a maximum speed of 17,200 sheets per hour. Visitors witnessed the capabilities of the Lithrone G40 advance in delivering both high-speed production and exceptional print quality.

The second job featured premium packaging printing on metallized paper. Utilizing UV coating and drip-off effects, the demonstration highlighted high-value-added printing applications designed for the packaging market, where premium appearance and product differentiation are increasingly important.

During the job changeover, KHS-AI enabled rapid color setup, while PDC-SX continuously monitored and controlled color tone throughout production to ensure stable and consistent results. The demonstration illustrated how Komori's solutions help printers achieve both fast job changeovers and high-quality production, even when handling diverse packaging applications.

Highlight ②: Expanding Opportunities for High-Value-Added Printing Through Decorative Effects

During the afternoon demonstration, the Lithrone G40 advance showcased a job changeover from trading card printing--a market that has seen significant growth in recent years--to packaging printing on conventional coated paper.

The first job featured trading card printing that combined metallized paper with drip-off effect to create a high-value-added printed product. The striking visual effects, which enhanced both three-dimensional and premium appearance, attracted considerable attention from visitors.

The second job demonstrated packaging printing utilizing the same drip-off technique. The application highlighted how decorative printing can enhance brand value and create a stronger visual impact for packaging products. Through these demonstrations, Komori presented high-quality, high-value-added printing solutions that help printing companies differentiate themselves in the market and improve profitability.

Highlight ③: Two Perspectives for Improving Profitability -- The Advantages of UV Printing and ROI on Capital Investment

In addition to the live demonstrations, seminar sessions focusing on the profitability of the printing business were also held.

The first seminar explored the theme, "Why UV Printing is Future Profit Engine." By comparing the profit margins of conventional offset printing and UV printing, the presentation explained the growing demand for UV printing in packaging and premium print applications. From a return on investment (ROI) perspective, it also demonstrated how UV printing can contribute to improved profitability for printing companies and presented new opportunities for business growth.

The second seminar focused on ROI and capital investment. Through ROI simulations, attendees were shown concrete examples of how equipment investments can improve profitability and business performance. The presentation also featured case studies of companies that have installed Komori advance model presses, illustrating how they have achieved higher productivity and increased profits through advanced printing technology and automation.
