From May 25 to 29, 2026, Komori held its first-ever Komori School overseas in Vietnam. Two instructors from the Komori Graphic Technology Center (KGC) in Japan participated, along with 17 attendees from eight local printing companies. For the first three days, the training was held at NewLifePack Co., Ltd. in the Cu Chi District near Ho Chi Minh City, using a six-color Lithrone G40 advance with coater. The program combined classroom lectures with hands-on training using the actual press. For the final two days, the venue moved to TOIN VIETNAM CO., LTD., where practical lectures focused on addressing the specific challenges that attendees face on the shop floor.
Background
In the offset printing industry, opportunities for press manufacturers to provide systematic technical training at overseas sites have been limited to date.
In Vietnam, the number of Komori press installations has grown steadily over the past decade. Supported by a young workforce, the market shows a strong willingness to actively adopt new technologies and knowledge. In addition, foreign investment in Vietnam continues to expand, and further market growth is anticipated.
Against this backdrop, Komori launched its first overseas Komori School in Vietnam.

Program Overview
The theme of this Komori School was "Maximizing the Performance of Komori Presses." The curriculum combined classroom study with practical exercises and covered a wide range of topics, including maintenance fundamentals, the effects of consumables and dampening water on print quality, key concepts and best practices for reducing job changeover times, effective color management, and press operation techniques.

The KGC instructors provided individualized, hands-on guidance, enabling attendees to immediately apply what they had learned at their own facilities. Participants shared positive feedback, including comments such as "I finally understand the root cause of print troubles that had plagued me for years," "I have added many more tools to my troubleshooting toolkit," and "The instructors were dedicated and generous in sharing their knowledge." Initiatives such as this contribute not only to improving press operation skills, but also to strengthening trust in the Komori brand.
Results and Outlook
Through this event, we gained a strong sense that Komori School can provide significant value to customers overseas as well. Holding the program locally in Vietnam also enabled us to reach and engage with a larger number of printing companies, which was another major achievement. Komori will continue to develop practical training programs in collaboration with local customers, with the aim of further enhancing their technical capabilities and supporting the continued development of the Vietnamese printing industry.
