Komori Europe's Crossover Event 2025 Highlights the Future of Print
19 December 2025
Komori Europe, together with SCREEN Europe and The Postpress Alliance, held the first-ever collaborative event "Crossover Event 2025" on November 26-27, 2025, in Utrecht, the Netherlands. This event took place at two venues: the Komori Europe Showroom (KGC-E) and SCREEN Europe's Inkjet Innovation Center. Over two days, more than 250 professionals from the printing industry attended, experiencing the latest technologies and integrated solutions enabled by strong partnerships. The event also showcased Komori's highly anticipated B2 inkjet digital press, J-throne 29, for the first time at KGC-E, drawing significant attention from the industry.
Industry Collaboration in Action
The event brought together professionals from pharma, packaging, digital printing, and postpress sectors to explore print's evolution in the age of automation through presentations, live demonstrations, and active networking. The seamless workflow integration between printing and postpress was demonstrated, allowing visitors to witness an end-to-end solution firsthand.
The highlight of the event was the J-throne 29, a press that redefines the possibilities of digital printing with its outstanding productivity. Recently introduced to the global market, this digital press combines high productivity with flexibility to add value to printed materials and superior environmental performance, offering an innovative solution that adds new value to print. The demonstration featured variable printing for calendars, as well as the complete process from package printing to die-cutting through integration with Bograma's rotary die-cutter.

For pharmaceutical solutions, package inserts were printed on roll paper using SCREEN's Truepress JET and finished in a single line with MBO and H+H equipment. At SCREEN Europe, printing demonstrations with the Truepress JET were also presented.
In addition, The Postpress Alliance, through the collaboration of MBO, H+H, and Hohner. demonstrated a fully automated line that converts sheets into saddle-stitched leaflets, completes the products, and stacks them on pallets. Furthermore, as an example of logistics automation, the innovation of print logistics using AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) was introduced through a real-world case from Veldhuis Media, a printing company in the Netherlands.
Visitors expressed considerable excitement about the seamless integration of equipment throughout the production workflow, noting its potential to transform operations through enhanced connectivity and efficiency.

The event featured keynote presentations by two industry opinion leaders: Bernd Zipper (Founder & CEO, zipcon consulting Germany) and Morten Reitoft (Founder & Editor-in-Chief, INKISH). Their speeches provided deep insights into the future of print, strategy, and innovation in the digital era, inspiring attendees to consider new possibilities for the industry.
